Jim Leisenring General Manager
Originally from Denver, CO, Jim has been in and around golf and the golf business for over forty years. Not only does he love the game, he truly values the entire club experience and ambiance. While he recently managed a 45-hole daily fee club in Las Vegas, Jim has spent the majority of his career in the private club industry, highlighted by 15 years at Talking Rock Golf Club in Prescott, AZ. Jim has always embraced the concept of continued improvement at each club he has served. It is in his DNA to mentor and train staff to create a service-oriented culture. He is also a creative thinker and looks for ways to continually enhance the member experience. Jim played NAIA golf at Western State College in Gunnison, CO where his team was inducted into the WSC Hall of Fame. He now resides just outside of Nashville with his wife, Rose.
Kerry Zebick Director of Sales and Marketing
Kerry grew up in Tullahoma, TN. She came to Legends after residing in Cincinnati, Ohio for almost 20 years. Kerry played collegiate golf for the University of South Carolina and the University of Cincinnati. She is a former Communications Manager for the Greater Cincinnati Golf Association, former USGA intern, and current representative for women's golf in the University of Cincinnati Hall of Champions. Kerry is an avid golfer and enjoys playing tennis, platform tennis, and basketball, as well. She is also a fan of fitness and is a certified yoga instructor. Kerry started working at VLC in April of 2013 as the Membership Sales Manager. She was promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing in fall of 2014.
Joe Hallett Director of Instruction
Joe Hallett, the Director of Instruction at Vanderbilt Legends Club, is the 2018 recipient of the Horton Smith Award, the PGA of America. Presented annually since 1976, the Horton Smith Award recognizes individuals who have developed and enriched education opportunities at the state, sectional and national levels. Hallett is this year’s national award winner. He was the Tennessee section’s Horton Smith Award winner in 2012 and PGA Teacher of the Year in 2013. He has a quarter century of experience as a PGA Professional and has worked closely with a number of high-profile players on the LPGA Tour, including Stacy Lewis, who was ranked No. 1 in the world in 2012, Inbee Park and Lizette Salas. Hallett served as lead instructor at the PGA Center for Learning and Performance in Port St. Lucie, Fla. and was director and chairman of the 2011 PGA Teaching Coaching Summit. He also hosted and produced “The Golf Show” on Sportstalk Radio Network.
Ed Free Business Manager
Ed has been with Vanderbilt Legends Club since 1994. As the Club Business Manager, he has been an integral part of all accounting and finance functions relative to the operations of the club. Prior to joining VLC he served as Controller and Assistant Manager with Davidson Hotel Management Company from 1986 to 1994. Originally from Asheville, NC he has lived in the Franklin area for 20+ years.
